Even though I've written dozens of manuals and journal articles, this was my first foray into truly commercial book publishing. It was quite a rush to see an actual printed copy of the book I coauthored with Char James-Tanny and Brenda Huettner. It's called Managing Virtual Teams: Getting the Most From Wikis, Blogs, and Other Collaborative Tools.
The three of us worked all summer and most of the fall putting this book together. It was a fantastic learning experience, and fun getting to know Char and Brenda better. Char is the tools guru, without whom this book would not be nearly as good. Brenda and I like the process and people side of the equation, and Brenda has published several other books, so her knowledge was invaluable.
I think we made a good team, and contributed complementary skills. The book's available directly from the publisher at http://www.wordware.com/wiki/ for a 35% discount. Or, you can order it off Amazon.
You can see us live at DocTrain on April 19, 2007 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We will also be at the STC conference in Minneapolis, MN from May 13-16, 2007.
